The Browns are a team that has not seen playoff action since 2002, but could be poised for an AFC North title and more in the future. Wasn’t the Cleveland Browns’ 2021 season supposed to be a success? Instead, despite a promising 3-1 start, the organization failed once again, ending with an 8-9 record, falling short of a second straight postseason participation and subjecting Baker Mayfield to trade speculations in the summer.
At the very least, the NFL schedule for 2022 gives Cleveland a chance to redeem itself.
The Browns have plenty of great talent across their depth chart. That much is undeniable.
Deshaun Watson was acquired through trade and could provide Cleveland with the elite option it has needed for almost a decade, providing he is eligible to play despite being the subject of 22 current legal cases claiming sexual assault and misconduct. Nick Chubb, one of the finest running backs in the NFL, leads a powerful wide receiving group that includes Amari Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and Anthony Schwartz, as well as a star-studded defense.
But we’ve heard this tale before, and now it’s up to the Browns to show they’ve progressed beyond paper tigers.
