The former head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, Chuck Pagano, said he is not completely ruling out a potential return to coaching for Antonio Brown. Despite having signed with the Oakland Raiders during free agency and being suspended by the NFL on multiple occasions in his career, there has always been speculation that Brown would eventually want back into football.

Former NFL Head Coach Chuck Pagano, who is now the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, has been trying his hand at predicting Antonio Brown’s murky NFL future. “Never say never in this league,” he said.

Former NFL Head Coach Chuck Pagano Tries His Hand at Predicting Antonio Brown’s Murky NFL Future: ‘Never Say Never’

After a fight with Bruce Arians and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the conclusion of the 2021 season, Antonio Brown’s career is in peril. The seven-time Pro Bowler is hoping for another opportunity to play in the NFL. That, though, seems to be a long shot at this moment. Chuck Pagano, the former head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, has seen stranger things.

Chuck Pagano believes Antonio Brown should be given another chance by an NFL franchise.

Jaws fell to the ground as Antonio Brown rushed off the field during the Buccaneers’ Week 17 win against the New York Jets. In the days and weeks that followed, the 12th-year wide receiver’s feud with head coach Bruce Arians became well reported.

Regardless of whatever side of the debate you’re on, it’s reasonable to conclude Brown’s NFL career is in jeopardy. Toward the conclusion of his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he had a falling out with the team. Then there was turmoil with each of his last three teams, the Raiders, Patriots, and Buccaneers.

If AB has already played his last snap in the league, it won’t be unexpected. Former Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano believes there is a little probability that a club will be ready to accept the risk.

“Never say never,” Pagano said on The Pat McAfee Show. “It looks like he can still play at a certain level. With his track record being what it is, would it shock me? No. People who are one player away or two players away, you can add this guy to your roster.”

To make sense, Pagano feels it would need a squad in the ideal circumstances.

“They’ll vet him if you have the head coach, offensive coordinator, locker room, and OGs to handle him,” he continued. “However, you must turn everything off and wait for everything to settle down. Allow the coals to simmer and the fire to burn out. “Disappear for a short while, then reappear without all the hoopla.”

Chuck Pagano’s tone suggests he won’t get Antonio Brown on board, but he believes someone else will.

What is AB’s next step?

Antonio Brown is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL during the last decade. The next stage in his football career, on the other hand, is anyone’s guess.

After struggling with the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots, it was uncertain whether AB would ever play again. That is, until Tom Brady sold the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the notion. Brown was in Tampa Bay after the seven-time Super Bowl winner sold Bruce Arians.

For a time, everything was going swimmingly. Brown was instrumental in the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl LV victory. He returned with new legs, which looked to be a good match for him at this point in his career. Injury set him back till 2021, when he was unable to continue playing. Brown was unable to finish a full season with the Buccaneers due to injury.

So What is AB’s next step?

That’s a bit of a conundrum. The Miami, Florida native has shown that he still has what it takes to be a successful wide receiver. Brown, who is 33 years old, still has the speed, agility, and athleticism to cause problems for opposing teams. Teams will, however, consider if the benefit is worth the risk.

AB stated his desire to play alongside Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens during a recent interview on the I Am Athlete podcast. His cousin, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, has extensive roots to Baltimore. Still, it’s hard to envision John Harbaugh and his crew (or any club) taking that chance right now.

It’s difficult to dismiss Antonio Brown’s brilliance from a football standpoint. Who thought he’d be that dominating for the most of his career when he was picked in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers?

In 146 career games, Brown has 928 catches for 12,291 yards and 83 touchdowns. The Central Michigan graduate has twice led the league in catches (2014, 2015), receiving yards (2014, 2017), and touchdown receptions (2014, 2017). (2018).

With Ben Roethlisberger and Le’Veon Bell, AB’s explosive playmaking skills made him a key element of a Steelers offense. He even had a brief stint as a returner, scoring five touchdowns on those returns.

In his nine seasons with the Steelers, AB was named to the Pro Bowl seven times. From 2014 to 2017, he was named to the First Team All-Pro four times in a row.

Antonio Brown, as great as he is, will be remembered for his pranks and controversy for the rest of his career. What an incredible way to go out if this is the end of the road for AB.
