Gilbert Arenas has been outspoken on social media since the Sixers made a decision to shut down Ben Simmons during their game against the Lakers. The former NBA player was not happy with what happened, calling it “ridiculous” and saying there’s no class in Philadelphia basketball right now.

Gilbert Arenas took to Twitter to blast the 76ers’ handling of Ben Simmons situation. He says that he’s not surprised that the Sixers have been struggling with their point guard position because they mishandled Simmons from day one. Read more in detail here: where is ben simmons from.

Gilbert Arenas Blasts 76ers' Handling of Ben Simmons Situation

The Philadelphia 76ers have officially transferred star point guard Ben Simmons after months of speculation. The long-drawn-out saga, however, was marred by several setbacks that harmed Simmons’ image.

After the public treatment he got from the Philadelphia 76ers, the three-time All-Star made the decision to leave the city. Gilbert Arenas, a former NBA player, recently weighed in on the matter, criticizing the 76ers’ handling of the issue.

Ben Simmons has gotten his desire.

Simmons’ journey to leaving the 76ers did not go as easily as he had wanted.

Despite the fact that the 25-year-time old’s in Philadelphia seemed to be coming to an end, the team’s strong desire for trade packages didn’t help matters. Meanwhile, Simmons has been away from the franchise, raising questions about his future.

Before the trade deadline, the star point guard got his wish in a blockbuster deal with the Brooklyn Nets, which acquired fellow 76ers unhappy player James Harden. Former guard Gilbert Arenas, on the other hand, had some harsh words for the 76ers.

The 76ers’ handling of Ben Simmons’ issue has been slammed by Gilbert Arenas.

There’s a lot to say about the 76ers’ handling of the Ben Simmons problem, which has persisted all season.

Despite the fact that Philadelphia landed the great player they had been after all along in Simmons, the team failed to resolve the situation in a timely way. However, on his No Chill podcast, veteran NBA point guard Gilbert Arenas recently chastised the 76ers for their public treatment of the three-time All-Star.

“I understand Ben Simmons’ point of view,” Arenas said. “It wasn’t just the media who believed he couldn’t win; his own coach stated he wasn’t sure the Sixers could win with him.” Teammates are aware of each other’s flaws, and they are aware that Ben has shooting and confidence concerns. It wasn’t appropriate to put him out there like way.”

After their second-round playoff elimination, the 76ers did Simmons no favors by openly criticizing him. Doc Rivers’ remark that he didn’t know whether the 25-year-old was a point guard capable of winning a championship soon turned into a scathing statement.

Meanwhile, Joel Embiid’s comments regarding Simmons’ inability to contribute as a scorer only added to the developing negative feeling around the team. Coaches and players, particularly after a disastrous playoff failure, may not have grasped the impact of their statements in many instances.

Simmons’ reputation might be harmed as a result of these issues, leaving him with an unclear future for many months. It would not have persisted as long if the 76ers had handled the situation differently in public.

The Nets give a much-needed new beginning.

Simmons has an opportunity to clear the slate with the Nets, as detrimental as the past few months of his 76ers stint were to his image.

Due to the presence of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, the three-time All-Star will not bear the burden of offensive responsibility. That alone will enable Simmons to have a greater influence on the game in areas where he thrives, like as passing and defense.

He can also make an offensive contribution in transition while being a key player in the paint. Simmons, on the other hand, is out with a pre-existing back issue that has flared up as a result of his intensified effort to return to the court.

Despite this, head coach Steve Nash has said that Simmons will play this season.

“This year, I absolutely anticipate to have him.” Nash told Kristian Winfield of The New York Daily News, “That’s where my head’s at.”

Regardless, once Simmons returns, he will have the opportunity to change the narrative around him as the missing piece to a title contender.
