During the NFL draft, co-host Joe Tessitore joked that he “put” his daughter on himself while describing a play. He later apologized for the comment after someone pointed out it was sexual harassment
The “put yourself on meaning” is a phrase that has been used for many years. It means to put something bad on oneself, but it can also be used in other ways.
Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are headed to the Super Bowl after another dramatic overtime victory. The Kansas City Chiefs led 21-3 at halftime, but stuttered down the stretch and were defeated by another Evan McPherson game-winning field goal, as has been the norm.
Patrick Mahomes had no one but himself to blame for the crushing defeat, particularly after a dreadful second half that featured two interceptions.
The Chiefs’ offense sputters, giving the Bengals a Super Bowl berth.
The Chiefs felt optimistic about their prospects at halftime. Kansas City scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and was a few yards away from adding another to go up 28-3.
In the second half, the gifted offense struck a brick wall, scoring just three points on a Harrison Butker field goal at the end of regulation. It was breathtaking, and the Bengals’ ability to respond time and time again was even more intriguing — albeit not totally unexpected given their season.
Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce couldn’t come up with a huge play after doing it regularly against the Buffalo Bills the week before, and Mahomes was off in the last two-plus quarters.
Following the defeat, Mahomes accepted responsibility and bore the brunt of the criticism.

This game was a true story of two halves. The Chiefs seemed to be on their way to a third consecutive Super Bowl victory at halftime.
Mahomes, on the other hand, struggled in the second half, and he was the first to confess it afterward (h/t The Athletic).
“I mean, you can’t lose when you’re up 21-3 at one point in the game, and I placed that on myself.”
Patrick Mahomes reacts to the Bengals’ defeat
“I’ve got to be better,” the Chiefs quarterback stated.
This isn’t the first time the Chiefs have blown a huge lead against the Bengals, and Mahomes is correct. They got up big the previous time these two teams faced, but Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase fought back to win the game.
Mahomes threw a pair of interceptions in the second half after just two incompletions in the first. The Bengals’ secondary held their own against the Chiefs’ weapons the remainder of the game, and Mahomes couldn’t get anything going.

It’s not easy to make it to three Super Bowls in a row. Despite this, the Chiefs came so close to winning the AFC Championship Game for the fourth time in a row.
Kansas City might be preparing for the Super Bowl if a handful of plays went their way – the last play of the first half will be talked about for a long time.
Regardless, Mahomes is confident in his team’s ability to bounce back, and he issued a message to the fans after the heartbreaking defeat.
In the 2019 free agency season, the Chiefs won’t have many choices to make, and they should once again be a highly tempting destination for players looking for a chance to win a Super Bowl.
Mahomes is also aware of the bar that the Chiefs have set for themselves: a Super Bowl victory.

If anything, this defeat will serve as motivation for Mahomes and the Chiefs until the start of the 2022 NFL season. Despite a poor start, a struggling offense, and a spotty defense, this squad managed to make another incredible run to the AFC championship game, owing mostly to Mahomes’ right arm.
Except for those heading to the Pro Bowl, this squad isn’t going away, but they won’t be playing football in February this year.
