Tom Brady has played in the NFL for over 20 years, playing quarterback for both the New England Patriots and an All-American college football career. Recently reported speculation suggests that Brady may be retiring this year but his father says he is not. Experts agree on no verdict as to what will happen with Tom Brady’s future until it actually happens which means we’ll have to wait and see how things unfold.
Tom Brady Sr. said that his son is not retiring from football, despite the reports that he would be. The New England Patriots quarterback has been in the news for a variety of reasons recently, but it appears as if this one was false. Read more in detail here: tom brady sr.
We may want to postpone Tom Brady’s retirement celebration for the time being. While ESPN’s Adam Schefter said that many sources informed him and Jeff Darlington that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston is retiring after 22 years, another source allegedly disputes this.
That source knows Brady significantly better than any of Schefter’s sources. According to reports, Tom Brady Sr. informed a Bay Area TV station that his son is not retiring.
Tom Brady has not said whether or not he will retire.

It’s been widely speculated that this year could be Brady’s last in the NFL. After the Bucs came up short to the Rams last week, all eyes turned to Brady. Rumors had it that he would be making an announcement on retirement shortly. On Saturday, Schefter posted on Twitter that “Tom Brady is retiring from football after 22 extraordinary seasons, multiple sources tell (Jeff Darlington) and me.”
Brady hasn’t made any formal statements. The Buccaneers are unaware of any decision to retire.
Rick Stroud, who covers the Bucs for the Tampa Bay Times, revealed hours after Schefter’s revelation that the Bucs had not been alerted of any retirement decision.
Stroud, via Twitter, reported Brady told Bucs GM Jason Licht that he is undecided.
“At best, this has been handled badly,” Stroud wrote. “However, Tom Brady is the only one who can speak on his behalf. His agency has now confirmed this. Brady informed Bucs GM Jason Licht that he is uncertain within the hour. As a result, we await HIS formal decision.”

Tom Brady Sr. promptly knocked down Schefter’s story that Brady is retiring. Brady Sr. told Kylen Mills of KRON 4 News in the San Francisco Bay Area that his son isn’t ready to put them up just yet.
“Tom Brady Sr. tells @kron4news that his son is not retiring.” Mills reported via Twitter. “Brady Sr. says an online publication started circulating an unsubstantiated rumor. However, a number of NFL insiders are now reporting it.
Brady may have gotten ahead of Schefter on this one, but he still has a chance to retire. Brady’s agent, Don Yee, issued a statement after Schefter announced Brady’s retirement.
“I appreciate the foreshadowing regarding Tom’s future,” the statement stated. “Without delving into the veracity or otherwise of what’s being reported, Tom will be the only one who can accurately describe his goals. He understands more than anybody about the reality of the football industry and the planning calendar, so that should happen soon.”
Brady’s agency has even stated that no announcement has been made, thus Schefter’s claim can’t be trusted until he says anything publicly.
Tom Brady Sr. also told NFL Network’s Mike Giardi that no decision has been made.
Checked in with Tom Brady Sr. who tells me, and I quote, “This story Mike is total conjecture. Tommy has not made a final decision one way or the other and anybody else that says that he has is absolutely wrong.” #TomBrady #Buccaneers

Brady’s father has talked to a number of media outlets, including Mike Giardi of the NFL Network. Mills’ report is similar to Giardi’s.
“I spoke with Tom Brady Sr., who told me, and I quote, ‘This narrative Mike is complete speculation.’ Tommy has not made a definitive decision one way or the other, and anybody who claims otherwise is completely incorrect,’” Giardi tweeted.
Brady’s season came to an end little over a week ago. He’s not in any hurry to make a life-altering choice. He demonstrated that he can still sling it at 44 by leading the NFL in touchdown passes and passing yards.
He said that he needs time to talk to his family, and he is entitled to that time. Schefter may have jumped the gun on his claim, so there’s still a possibility Brady’s career isn’t over yet.
Byron Leftwich, the Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator, isn’t dismissing Tom Brady’s retirement rumors.
Tom Brady has been the quarterback for the New England Patriots since 2001. He is a five-time Super Bowl champion, and he’s considered one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. But on Wednesday night, his father told ESPN that Tom was not retiring from football. Reference: tom brady breaking news.
