Jim Kelly was a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, who lost four Super Bowls in his career. He said that he learned something from each loss and is now passing on those lessons to Josh Allen.
The bills super bowl appearances is a statistic that shows the amount of Super Bowls that quarterback Jim Kelly has lost. He won 4, but he learned a valuable lesson from those losses and he’s passing on to his son Josh Allen.
Jim Kelly, Buffalo’s Hall of Fame quarterback, understands how to bounce back on his feet after a devastating loss. In the 1990s, the famous passer endured terrible defeats on the greatest stage. During the following seasons, he and the Buffalo Bills, on the other hand, jumped right back into the game and continued to achieve new heights. Kelly is now sharing what he’s learned about overcoming hardship with Josh Allen, Buffalo’s new hero.

Jim Kelly moved from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Rust Belt, to Miami, Florida, to play quarterback. The Hurricane quarterback was not thrilled about returning to the chilly, dreary Northeast when the Buffalo Bills selected him 14th overall in the 1983 NFL Draft.
Kelly, who was unhappy about the idea of playing in Buffalo, actually rejected the team’s offer of a contract. He subsequently spent two seasons with the Houston Gamblers in the nascent USFL.
Kelly relocated to Western New York when the USFL collapsed. He may not have wanted to, but he’s happy he did today.
During his 11 seasons in Orchard Park, the 6-foot-3 quarterback became a Buffalo Bills icon. He was a five-time Pro Bowler as well as an All-Pro selection. Buffalo’s K-Gun system was run by him, and he finished his career with 39,330 throwing yards and 237 touchdowns. Kelly was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002.
Kelly is most remembered for what the Bills accomplished as a team in the early 1990s, despite his individual achievements. Buffalo was the first (and remains the only) NFL club to win four Super Bowls in a row.
Even if the Bills lost all four, the achievement is still remarkable.
During those four Super Bowl seasons, Kelly learned a lot. And now, after years of mediocrity at the position, the Bills have a quarterback with whom Kelly can share his knowledge and who may be able to lead the team back to the Promised Land.
Following the Bills’ defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kelly discussed what Josh Allen has to accomplish.
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills were among the favorites to win the Super Bowl in 2021 after reaching the AFC Championship game in 2020. With a Week 1 home defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers, their plans took a blow.
In Western New York, Jim Kelly won a lot of games. He also has experience with losing and recovering from setbacks.
In a recent ESPN interview, Kelly offered his greatest advise to Allen. The fabled passer said:
One thing I’ve learnt in my life is that you have to put the bad things behind you, learn from them, and move on. You don’t simply let it seep into your subconscious and remain there. You have to learn from them, and I’ve done a fantastic job of it by going to Super Bowls and losing. You put it on the back burner and get on with your life.
Josh Allen’s guidance from Jim Kelly
Kelly and his Bills colleagues accomplished this better than anybody else in the league’s history. Kelly’s Buffalo teams rose back up and did it again the next season no matter how many times they had to endure an offseason after a devastating Super Bowl loss.
Kelly’s counsel is good, and Allen would be smart to take it to heart.
Allen will face the Miami Dolphins in a pivotal Week 2 game.

Week 2 of the NFL season is crucial for any club that is 0-1 thus far. When that club travels to play a 1-0 division opponent, the game becomes very important.
That’s what Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are up against as they prepare to play the Miami Dolphins in Miami. In Week 1, the ‘Phins defeated the New England Patriots. Another victory over an AFC East opponent would put them in command of the division.
The Bills, on the other hand, are the polar opposite. If the club goes 0-2, the AFC East may slip away from them. They can also probably forget on their Super Bowl dreams.
While a new season and new teams await the Bills in 2021, they may take comfort in the knowledge that they easily dispatched the fish in both encounters last season. In another Week 2 meeting, the Bills won 31-28 at home. The Bills then did a victory lap in Florida during Week 17 on their way to the playoffs, winning 56-26. The Dolphins were also eliminated from the playoffs as a result of this victory.
The Bills will have a genuine opportunity to right the course if Allen can take Jim Kelly’s counsel and put the negative of the Pittsburgh game behind him. If not, Miami coach Brian Flores and his team may be able to avenge last year’s late-season thrashing.
