The Detroit Lions linebacker revealed that he needs to work on getting his hands up in the right place when defending certain offensive players, and it’s something he addressed with coach Matt Patricia.

The “Kyle Van Noy podcast” is a podcast that talks about sports. Kyle Van Noy, who is a linebacker for the New England Patriots, had to leave his game in the first quarter because of an injury. He said that Mac Jones needs work on one part of his game that has nothing to do with his football skills.

For the most part, New England Patriots rookie quarterback Mac Jones enjoyed a solid season. Jones led the Patriots to seven consecutive victories after a shaky start that saw them go 2-4. The Patriots reached the playoffs, but were defeated 47-17 at home by the Buffalo Bills.

Jones performed well as a rookie under Bill Belichick. Former Patriots defender Kyle Van Noy played with Jones and has nothing but praise for the talented Alabama quarterback. Van Noy did indicate Jones has to work on one aspect of his game during a recent interview on The Pat McAfee Show.

As a rookie with the New England Patriots, Mac Jones had more ups than downs.

The New England offense faltered a year after Tom Brady departed the Patriots for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Patriots missed the playoffs for the first time in 20 years under veteran quarterback Cam Newton.

Jones was selected 15th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, making him the first rookie quarterback to start in New England in almost two decades. As a starter, he finished 10-7 with 22 touchdown throws and 13 interceptions. He passed 67.3 percent of the time. Jones even saw action in the Pro Bowl when several of the quarterbacks who were voted in decided not to play.

Jones reflects on his rookie season before playing in the Pro Bowl. He’s relieved to have completed his first year, but he recognizes that he still has a long way to go.

“I believe this offseason will be a major part of it,” Jones told Patriots.com. “Just getting stronger and cleaning up on my nutrition and all that.” “There’s a lot that’s going to go into it before next season even begins, so addressing that is the most important aspect, and then hopefully a lot of huge adjustments will occur, whether it’s mechanics or the playbook.”

“I’ve got a lot of time now to process everything and figure out how I want to accomplish things.”

Mac Jones must improve his trash-talking skills.

Last season, Van Noy returned to the Patriots and teamed up with rookie quarterback Tom Brady. During his visit on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday, he expressed his admiration for Jones.

McAfee said that he had heard Jones was a trash-talker and asked Van Noy what he thought of the rookie’s trash-talking skills.

“It’s OK. Van Noy laughed as he stated, “It needs some work.” “There are a few dad jokes in there.” Even though he isn’t a father, the dad joke tastes are there. He is, nevertheless, rather excellent. I like his humor. It takes you by surprise.”

Van Noy went on to emphasize how much he admires Jones and feels he is the ideal quarterback for the Patriots.

“Mac is my favorite. Van Noy said, “I truly believe in Mac.” “I sent him a wonderful note the other day about how much I admire him as a person.” I have faith in him and believe he will succeed. I certainly hope he has a strong supporting cast behind him, because he needs it.”

The dad jokes, according to McAfee, made sense coming from a person like Jones.

McAfee conducted some rapid analysis and figured out what Jones was saying with his dad jokes. This year, the former Indianapolis Colts punter claimed he performed like a seasoned pro. On the field, he stated he seemed mature beyond his years.

McAfee stated, “He’s going to be a player.” “It seems like I’m a 60-year-old guy, so I guess that’s why we all get the dad jokes.”

“I couldn’t understand how calm he was in all of these circumstances.” It’s as though he’s 90 years old. At the conclusion of the year, we weren’t even talking about him like he was a rookie quarterback.”

Jones is projected to have a big year in Year 2. During the season, Belichick said that there is normally a significant difference between a player’s rookie and sophomore seasons.

According to Patriots.com, “I believe all the first and second-year guys, as we’ve spoken about previously, it’s usually a tremendous leap for them from year one to year two.” “When they get at camp, they have a lot greater grasp of our system, the National Football League, and what the expectations and routine are. It’s a lot simpler to prepare and go through it again when you’ve gone through it once.”
