The Dallas Cowboys seem to be poised to answer the bell in 2021, after failing to fulfill high expectations for many years. According to Fox Sports 1 expert Nick Wright, they are presently one of the top teams in the NFL, but there is still potential for growth. The co-host of First Things First offered Jerry Jones some suggestions that will immediately improve the Cowboys.
The Cowboys have a 5-1 record.
Through the first six weeks of the 2021 NFL season, the Cowboys are playing their best football in years. They have a 5-1 record and are in first position in the NFC East heading into their bye week.
In 2020, the NFC East was a template for mediocrity, and none of the clubs deserved to be in the playoffs. Dallas ended the season with a 6-10 record, mostly due to weak defense and Dak Prescott’s season-ending injury.
The Cowboys are light years ahead of where they were in 2020. Prescott’s return to play has given this football club a new lease of life. In terms of scoring and total yards, Dallas has the best offensive in the league.
Prescott is spearheading an explosive offense that includes Ezekiel Elliott, CeeDee Lamb, and Amari Cooper, and is playing at an MVP level. The offensive is more than living up to the expectations.
So far, the Cowboys’ defense has been the most surprising. Dan Quinn was hired as the new defensive coordinator by Jerry Jones, and the club is enjoying the benefits. Trevon Diggs is the current Defensive Player of the Year, while rookie Micah Parsons is on the rise.
Dallas is in a terrific position to go ahead after taking a week off to recover and reflect.

The Dallas Cowboys are 5-1, but they aren’t without flaws. The only club in the NFL with an undefeated record is the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cowboys’ head coach, like the Cardinals’, isn’t receiving credit for his team’s strong start. Mike McCarthy’s every action is scrutinized with a fine-tooth comb.
Nick Wright of FS1 was a guest on The Colin Cowherd Podcast, where he discussed the Cowboys’ recent OT victory and early success. If Jerry Jones wants to win it all, he has a proposal for him.
“If Jerry Jones is serious about winning the Super Bowl this year, he should elevate Kellen Moore this week,” Wright stated. “It’s great to see you, Mike.” The plays are already being called by Kellen Moore. McCarthy’s sole job is to deal with things that happen inside the game, and he’s awful at it.”
With Kellen Moore as offensive coordinator, the Cowboys’ offense has flourished. Although it’s uncertain if he’d be successful as a head coach, Nick Wright believes it should happen. “It would improve them,” he said.
Despite an excellent start, Mike McCarthy’s weaknesses are emerging.
It’s unusual for a squad to have such a strong start while also having its head coach under investigation. Mike McCarthy, on the other hand, is defying the odds.
With the best offense in the league and a much-improved defense, the Cowboys should be able to make a deep playoff run in 2021. The head coach, on the other hand, poses the greatest danger to their prospects.
To begin the season, McCarthy’s game management has been perplexing. The same issue that terminated his time with the Green Bay Packers has reared its ugly head once again in Dallas.
Most recently, before a game-tying field goal late in a victory against the Patriots, the Cowboys head coach requested a timeout. New England lost time as a result of the relocation. Such errors in judgment may hurt Dallas in the long run, particularly in important games.
In the midst of a game, Nick Wright remarked, “Mike McCarthy is out to lunch.”
Jerry Jones, on the other hand, has supported McCarthy up to this point. According to Yahoo Sports, he stated, “I’m right in there with Mike on his game management.” “I believe he does a fantastic job.”
McCarthy deserves credit for helping the Cowboys win games. If he doesn’t wake up, Jerry Jones may have to act quickly before it’s too late.
