The Browns, who have been a laughingstock for quite some time now, suffered another soul-crushing injury to their quarterback that will put an already hobbled Baker Mayfield in serious danger. The NFL is not playing nice right now and just took away the best player on the team.

The “where do the browns live” is a team that has been struggling for years. They were hoping to have a new quarterback, but now they are in serious danger of not making the playoffs.

The Browns Suffered Another Soul-Crushing Injury That Will Put an Already Hobbled Baker Mayfield in Serious Danger

To put it frankly, the Cleveland Browns’ 2021 season has been a terrible disaster. The Browns have battled hardship at every step, from the release of Odell Beckham Jr. to an injury list that seems to never stop.

Unfortunately for Browns supporters all across the world, things aren’t looking good for the Browns in the near future. During their Week 12 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens, they suffered yet another devastating injury, this time to their already-hampered quarterback.

During the Browns’ Week 12 defeat, Jack Conklin was carried off.

Right tackle Jack Conklin’s comeback to the Browns’ offensive line was short-lived after he was reinstated off injured reserve with a dislocated elbow. The veteran RT got twisted up and landed awkwardly on his leg during Sunday Night Football versus the Ravens.

Conlin clutched his knee and began rolling about on the ground in anguish. Everyone could see the injury was serious right away. Conklin stood up and began walking away from the field on his own. He just made it a few feet before his knee collapsed totally. His teammates and staff had to assist him off the field.

The Browns had to summon the injury cart shortly after to transport Conklin into the locker room for treatment. Conklin had all the obvious indicators of a torn patella tendon, according to David J. Chao (the Pro Football Doc on Twitter).

Conklin has finished his season.

According to a source, tests today revealed that Browns’ outstanding offensive tackle Jack Conklin tore his patella tendon and will miss the remainder of the season.

Unfortunately for Conklin and the Browns, everyone’s first concerns were justified. The experienced RT conducted tests on Monday morning (November 29), which revealed he tore his patella tendon.

This will keep him out for the rest of the 2021 season, and it may even jeopardize his 2022 season. Torn patella tendons are no laughing matter.

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com has more on the injury:

According to cleveland.com, the Browns’ greatest fears were realized Monday when Jack Conklin’s MRI revealed a season-ending ruptured patella tendon in his knee.

He’ll almost certainly have surgery shortly and start rehab in order to be fit for the 2022 season. The revelation was originally reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Conklin was hurt on the second drive of the Ravens’ 16-10 defeat on Sunday night. His leg buckled when he attempted to walk off the field, and he had to be helped off. He was carried into the locker room and immediately declared out of the game, which was a terrible indication.

This season, the Browns have been one of the league’s most injured teams. Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb, both running backs, have lost time. The offensive line has sustained injuries. Baker Mayfield is far from being 100 percent healthy.

Things are only going to get worse for Cleveland’s offense now that Conklin is expected to miss the rest of the 2021 season.

For the time being, putting the rest of the ailments aside, Mayfield’s health has been the Browns’ main concern this season. He’s been playing with a torn shoulder since the beginning of the season, and in order to remain on the field, he needs to wear an unattractive brace during games. The entire incident is having a significant impact on him, severely reducing his ability to throw the football.

As players returned from the disabled list, the Browns hoped to relieve some of the strain on Mayfield and his ailments. Mayfield was expected to revert to a glorified game manager in the second half of the season with the return of Chubb, Hunt, and Conklin.

This isn’t going to happen now that Conklin is done for the season. Instead, the Browns’ right tackle position will continue to be a major weakness, leaving Mayfield vulnerable to sacks and QB hits.

Mayfield’s season might be over if he takes another devastating hit from a rushing DE. He’s holding on by a thread to his health. It’s difficult to see him being at ease with a backup RT on the scene to protect him.
