The Indianapolis Colts are probably the most surprising team in football. They have a 28-11 record over the last three seasons, including an AFC South title in 2016 and their first playoff appearance since 2014. However, they seem to be stuck at quarterback as they try to figure out who should start this season between Jacoby Brissett and Scott Tolzien.
The Indianapolis Colts should use Pat McAfee’s friendship with Aaron Rodgers to help fix their doomed QB situation once and for all. The Colts have been stuck in a quarterback quagmire that has seen them go through three different quarterbacks since the beginning of the 2015 season. Read more in detail here: aaron rodgers number.
The Indianapolis Colts, like many other NFL teams, were probably freaked out this weekend as they watched the playoffs. It must be difficult to see players like Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen succeed on their respective teams while their quarterback situation remains precarious.
The Colts, on the other hand, could solve that issue (at least for the next several years) by calling one of their former players.
Pat McAfee, the team’s punter from 2009 to 2016, is now a huge sports media celebrity, as you surely know. He also continues to reside in Indianapolis and supports the team. As a result, he may be the solution to Indy’s greatest issue.
Although McAfee isn’t a quarterback, the Colts could utilize his connection with Aaron Rodgers as a recruitment weapon in order to attract the reigning NFL MVP to Indianapolis.
The future of Aaron Rodgers with the Packers is uncertain… again

It seems that we were just recently in this situation. We wondered if Aaron Rodgers would retire, ask for a trade, or return to the Packers over the summer. Now we’ve returned.
Last year, there were a lot of rumors about Rodgers flying around, and he didn’t say anything about his intentions. However, the 2005 first-round selection returned to Green Bay and proceeded to dominate this season after supposedly ironing out his difficulties with the front office. He passed for 4,115 yards, 37 touchdowns, and just four interceptions while leading Green Bay to a 13-4 record and a No. 1 seed in the NFC.
However, after the Packers were upset in the NFC Divisional Round by the San Francisco 49ers this past weekend, Rodgers, who sent a cryptic message following the defeat, may have to make a difficult choice sooner rather than later.
If he does not retire, he said after the game that he does not “want to be part of a rebuild.” His best receiver, Davante Adams, is a free agency this summer, and the Packers have already spent $44.8 million more than their anticipated salary ceiling for 2022, according to ESPN. As a result, there’s a potential Adams won’t be back in 2022, meaning Green Bay won’t be nearly as competitive.
The Colts may be a fantastic match for Rodgers if he wants to play but has no other option than to ask for a trade.
The Indianapolis Colts must find out what to do about their dismal quarterback position.
The Indianapolis Colts have been a good club without a quarterback answer since Andrew Luck’s surprising retirement in 2019.
With Philip Rivers as quarterback, they went 11-5 and made the playoffs in 2020. However, they had a sad conclusion to their 2021 season with Carson Wentz, who had a rebound season from previous year but shown that he lacks the ability to lead a team when it is in need.
For the Colts, Aaron Rodgers may be the answer.
According to CBS Sports, Indy is likely to have some cap space in 2022 and may save $13.3 million by releasing Wentz. And, since the club’s regular-season collapse, owner Jim Irsay has expressed his displeasure with the squad, which might force general manager Chris Ballard to be more proactive this summer. Since the team’s Week 18 defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Ballard has been hesitant to commit to Wentz.
It may take a lot to acquire Rodgers, but he would be surrounded by a good squad if he went there. The Colts boast one of the top defenses in the NFL, one of the finest offensive lines in the league, perhaps the best running back in football in Jonathan Taylor, and a promising wide out in Michael Pittman Jr. They’re just a quarterback away from a Super Bowl appearance, and Rodgers’ Hall of Fame-caliber abilities may be the solution for the next several years.
And the Colts should contact Pat McAfee if they want to make a real push at the 10-time Pro Bowler.

Rodgers is obviously going to do what he wants. He’s not likely to let others make his decision for him. He won’t be a free agent, so the Packers will have to move him and accept the package they get in exchange.
However, given his legendary status, if the three-time MVP requests a trade in 2022, Green Bay may very well move him to any club he wants.
Pat McAfee may be able to help.
Over the last several years, McAfee and Rodgers have developed a strong connection, to the point that A-Rod comes on his program on a regular basis. He also seems to have faith in McAfee, as he has been more open about it than at any other point in his career (sometimes to a fault).
Despite the fact that McAfee is no longer a member of the Indianapolis Colts, he still seems to have ties to the team. His devotion to the horseshoe, along with his friendship with Rodgers, may be the ideal mix for him to bring the quarterback to Indianapolis. He’d be an additional tool in the front office’s arsenal as they strive to get one of the best quarterbacks of this age.
Overall, there are a lot of unknowns, and Rodgers won’t make his choice only on the basis of his connection with McAfee. However, as the Packers enter the summer and the Indianapolis Colts seek for a new quarterback, their connection might be something to watch.
