Khris Middleton has been battling injuries since midway through the season. He is set to return tonight at home against the Wizards, but what’s going on with him and when will he be 100% healthy?
Khris Middleton is one of the key pieces for the Milwaukee Bucks. He was injured during the first game of the season and has not been seen since then. The team has not yet released an official word on when he will return to the court. Read more in detail here: when will khris middleton return.
The Milwaukee Bucks seem to be on their way to knocking out the undermanned Chicago Bulls and advancing to the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, but the reigning champions haven’t had it easy. Khris Middleton, Milwaukee’s second-leading scorer, has been absent for the previous two games. He isn’t expected to play in Game 5 on Wednesday night, and his return to the lineup remains an unknown.
So, why isn’t Middleton playing for the Bucks right now, and when can we expect him to return?
In Game 2 against the Bulls, Khris Middleton damaged his MCL.
According to ESPN, Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Khris Middleton has an MCL sprain in his left knee and will be examined in two weeks. For the remainder of this first-round series against Chicago, the Bucks will be without Middleton.

When the Bucks lost Game 2 to the Bulls on their own floor last week, it cast a pall over the city of Milwaukee. They not only gave Chicago an early lead in the first-round playoff series, but they also lost their second-best player to a potentially fatal injury.
With less than eight minutes remaining in Game 2, Middleton drove to his right and slid on the floor, twisting his knee painfully. He ultimately hobbled back to the locker room on his own, but it was evident that he had sustained a leg injury.
Middleton had an MRI on his left knee the following day, which indicated a damaged medial collateral ligament (MCL). According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the forward will be re-evaluated in two weeks, which means he won’t be able to play the remainder of Milwaukee’s first-round series.
The Bucks have performed well without Middleton in the lineup, winning by 30 points in Game 3 and 24 points in Game 4, but they will undoubtedly want his services if they are to reach the NBA Finals for the second consecutive season.

The Bucks will fly to Boston on Sunday to begin their second-round series against the Celtics if they defeat the Bulls in Game 5. In that instance, Milwaukee would have to play two games in Boston before Middleton’s MCL injury is even re-evaluated. There’s still a chance he’ll be able to play in the second round, but it won’t be until at least Game 3.
According to Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Middleton remarked last Friday regarding his odds of playing in Round 2. “They say two weeks,” I say. Hopefully, I’ll be ready, or close to being ready, to return to the court by then.”
The Bucks battled with injuries throughout their championship run last year, and Middleton believes they’ll be able to hold on until he’s ready to return.
“We did it as a group last year,” Middleton added. “Everyone stepped up and played a significant role when Giannis went down (in the Eastern Conference Finals), so I expect nothing less.” Guys seem to be ready to step up and play. It’s win-or-go-home time for them right now.”
Milwaukee will be hoping for a quick recovery from Middleton, but winning by a combined 54 points in the two games he has missed is certainly encouraging.
